Beauty and Wellness Business Books Cleanup
Three numbered questions about the mixed amount, the fee, and the open month

Beauty and Wellness Business Books Cleanup Questions owners ask next

A stylist asked the tip question at the chair, and the owner had three more behind it. Each answer has a page. This one only points, and adds the part people skip.

The questions that usually come second

If I used the color, did I sell it?

Not by using it. Use is a cost of the service. A sale is a bottle that left intact. Both can happen in one week, and they should not share a line. The walk-through is the bowl.

Is chair rent just more service income?

It is income, and it is rent. Putting it in service sales hides how much of the batch was your own work. Classification of the person is a separate question on which form.

Do salon tips go on Form 8846?

The instructions describe food and beverage service. A chair tip stays off that form. Employees still report tips of $20 or more by the tenth. Those are two different sentences, on the credit and the tenth.

Can I leave gift cards off the books until they are used?

You can lose them that way. The sale day and the visit day both need a treatment that matches your method. A four-year story is not the federal income clock. See gift cards.

What if I only have the batch total?

Then we say the month is still blended. We do not paint service, retail, and tips onto a number that cannot carry them. Bring the batch. The sketch with blanks is the shape.
